Elif

We at the Elif app (“Elif”, “we”) care about your privacy. This text explains which data we process and why, and what your rights are. By using Elif you accept these terms.

1) Data we collect

• Location: used to calculate prayer times and the direction of the qibla. Your location is processed only on your device and is never sent to our servers.
• Notification permission: used for adhan and reminder notifications.
• Account details (optional): if you register for cloud backup, your e-mail address and password are stored securely.
• Worship/progress data (optional): if you sign in, your prayer tracking, dhikr and goals are backed up to the cloud.
• Your du'a wall posts: du'as you share can be seen by other users.
• Crash/diagnostic data: if the app crashes, anonymous technical information may be collected in order to fix the fault.

2) How we use the data

We use your data only to run the app (prayer times, qibla, notifications, backup, du'a wall) and to improve it. We do not sell your data and do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

3) Third-party services

• Supabase: secure hosting of account and cloud backup data.
• Sentry: crash reports and error diagnostics.

These services process your data only on our behalf.

4) Retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. Inside the app you can permanently delete your account and all of your cloud data (including backups and your du'a wall posts) via Settings → Account → “Delete account”. This action cannot be undone.

5) Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, and to object to its processing. Users in Turkey additionally hold the rights granted by Law no. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). You can reach us at the e-mail address below for any such request.

6) Children's privacy

Elif is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
